ABOUT ME

Jasmine Yates is a Berkshire based Illustrator and Designer, best known for her exploration of mixed media design and collaborating her graphic design skills and illustration skills together to create meaning fun piece of work which resonate with her audience on a deeper level. She draws on her own experiences as a girl growing up and navigating all the experiences and emotions we go through in our lifetime, from our younger days to present day and to the unknown of the future.

Over the years she attended University she experimented heavily with analogue work from drawing, print making , painting ,textiles and digital media. By collaborating these medias she feels it adds more depth to the overall piece. For some time she also dipped into photography, digital and film photography which is still a main skill she choses to use in the designing process. Recently she experimented with a more conceptual style for of photography using a scanner to create solo imagery.

Throughout university she par took in different exhibitions with her peers creating work for themes surrounding Environment , Urban World, Our stories and her final Exhibition You Are Here, where she display her final piece which was a book looking at the connection we have with our siblings focusing on her sibling relationship with her younger brother. This was her toughest project as she had the task of curating pieces which explained the connection without overbearing the imagery with lots of typography. Whilst also creating her end of year book she worked with different companies such as Netflixs and Hallmark card on briefs they supplied and in returned her work got shortlisted.
